A huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO Hospitality Committee and to the wonderful parents who donated homemade holiday cookies for our staff cookie exchange this Monday. Your time, generosity, and thoughtfulness truly made our season sweeter and reminded our staff how supported and appreciated they are. We are so thankful for a community that shows love in the simplest (and most delicious!) ways. 💫

3rd grade hit a Home Run of a field trip with a tour of Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros! Our bears are swinging for the big leagues! ⚾️

3rd graders completed a Shape Workshop to explore attributes of 2D and 3D shapes!

Kicking off December 1st with a little Grinchy fun and a whole lot of 💚KINDNESS💚 at Buckalew! Our favorite Grinch stopped by to remind our Buckalew Bears that even the coldest hearts can grow three sizes when we choose to be kind, include others, and spread joy.

Happy Thanksgiving from 1st Grade! Today we celebrated with turkey crafts, learning about Thanksgiving and saying what we are thankful for. 1st Grade is thankful for every parent and community member that supports our school.

Did you know that Buckalew has a Turkey Trot tradition?! For the umpteenth time, our Bears participated in the Buckalew Turkey Trot during specials on the day before the long week off. Each grade level runs a track on the playground and grades 1-4 do it as a class competition. Whoever runs the most laps as a class earns the coveted Turkey Trot trophy FOR THE YEAR! Back inside, Mrs. Doak leads us in the Turkey Tango, Mrs. Ramirez leads us in Super Turkey when some kids get to help act it out. While this is going on Coach Russell, Coach Traylor, and Mrs. West are calculating scores. Congratulations to our 2025 Turkey Trot Champions!! 1st grade - Mr. Cohen's class 2nd grade - Mrs. Hargett's class 3rd grade - Mrs. Applegate's class 4th grade - Mrs. Hubbard's class (Kinder will get to compete beginning in 1st grade 😊)

Our 4th graders put on a wonderful evening of Folk Dancing for the 3rd year in a row! What fun to learn about ways to build community, teamwork, and smile for a little while. Thank you friends and family members for joining in during the program as well!
