Buckalew Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is very important. Every day is packed with learning and valuable instruction that cannot be reproduced at home. State law requires that children miss no more than 10% (18 days) of the school year.

When your child will be absent, please call the school attendance line (281-465-3410) or email Jayne Bull (jbull@conroeisd.net) to explain the reason for their absence.

Please remember that attendance is recorded at 9:00 a.m. each day. If your child is absent at 9:00 a.m. due to a doctor’s appointment, he/she will be counted present if you bring your child back to school on the same day with a doctors statement that verifies the appointment.

Following an absence, please send a note explaining the reason for your child’s absence. If your child will be out for an extended period of time, please let us know.

School hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. and students will be counted tardy if they are not in their classroom at that time.

• Kindergarten – 11:20 to 11:50
• 1st Grade – 11:50 to 12:20
• 2nd Grade – 12:20 to 12:50
• 3rd Grade – 12:00 to 12:30
• 4th Grade – 11:30 to 12:00

• Kindergarten – 11:50 to 12:20
• 1st Grade – 12:20 to 12:50
• 2nd Grade – 12:50 to 1:20
• 3rd Grade – 12:30 to 1:00
• 4th Grade – 12:00 to 12:30

Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on school-wide activities throughout the year. 

What Bus Do I Ride?

Transportation changes are only to be used in an emergency only situation.

All changes must be made in writing to the teacher and must be made before 2:00 p.m.

In an emergency, changes can be emailed before 2 p.m. to buckalewtransportation@conroeisd.net.  Please call the office to confirm receipt.

After 2:00, it is very difficult to communicate changes to the student prior to dismissal.
